on the mend

Mike and I relaxed yesterday and marveled that it was a week ago that he was in surgery and we had a marathon day is the waiting room. We are both so glad it is over. The home care nurse visited and everything seems to be on tract to heading north. I keep taking his pulse and it is regular and strong...no more fibbing. The weather is cold but sunny and Patrick and Heathers apartment faces south so it is great to soak up the sun. Jackson, Patrick and Heathers dog, has kept us enertained with his ball chasing. We look foreward to our own bed ,snug home and adorable Riggs. Thanks so much everyone....Kathy

  1. Hello Nolans,

I'm so glad to hear everything is on track for the triumphant return to Traverse City. The description of Nolan's pulse as "regular and strong, no fibbing" seems to be a remarkable variance from his general demeanor. Are you sure that they didn't slip a heart transplant by you instead of a bypass and repair? In any event please don't describe Mike as having a "conservative" heartbeat. I will truly become concerned.

Please let me know if I can do anything at your homestead in preparation for your return to the neighborhood (such as tapping a new keg of Guinness to keep the gathering throngs, that have been growing exponentially in your backyard for the past several days, subdued until you roll into the alley). Sure, I can do that. No I cannot haul away the truckload of frozen dog turds that Riggs has deposited in the yard during your absence. Haley said that he will take care of that.

  2. Hi Guys. Glad to hear things are going well. Did they tell Mike to start walking? They really push up here to walk 5 mins at a time several times a day. Will you do cardiac rehab? That's a good way to get stronger without worrying about doing too much. Well, take good care. We'll be glad to have you home. You, too, I guess, Mike. Love, George

  3. Hey Mike & Kathy, I just heard about Mike's surgery. How much longer are you going to be in Southeast Michigan? I am living about 15 minutes from Ann Arbor, here in Northville. This is Jerry Cramer, Mike will surely remember me. I would like to visit while you are down here. please call me 231-392-2075
    Thanks

  5. Cardiac Rehab?

Some ideas to get your ticker kicking:

    1. The Cigar Dinner Tix are at the printer

    2. Ben has cut your cigar store's ties with Ashton to focus on rum soaked vanilla twists. He says "They're the wave of the future" [kinda like bead heads]

    3. The state DNR has opened up Yellowtrees to CCC as a "Jet Ski Only" stetch of river.

    4. Jason Allen just re-introduced the smoking ban bill.

    5. Haley hasn't cleaned up a single turd. I don't know what they were feeding Riggs in your absence, but your backyard looks like "Turd-a-palooza"

    6. The state of Michigan denied your parade permit application for St. Pat's day.

    7. Remeber those 186 bottles of Woodford Reserve bourbon that was delivered to Todd's garage for storage between now and the Cigar Dinner? Well.... he was overserved at the last Wild Sully's show and he drove his truck right into and through the pallet of bourbon and out the back of his garage......

    8. After Rich Rodriguez's disasterous 2008 season, they fired him and hired Lou Holtz.

Looking forward to seeing you and Kathy later today.

  6. Cindy and Ray were over for dinner last night and I told Ray about the miketheflyfishingkingdouchebag website. Well Ray could not believe it, so I showed him and he said no shit. So seeing is believin'. Sorry about your back yard. I simply failed to realize that picking up dogshit was my responsibility. I will have one of our process servers take care of it right away as soon as they complete patrol duties at the Crossroads. Can you change a 20??
