Morning Update
Good Morning everyone, we have the news you all have been waiting for.....they removed his breathing tube this morning with Kathy (mom) and I at his side and he is alert and talking. He is still in a good deal of pain, as one would expect and is getting good drugs. More rest is in store for him today but there was talk of getting some of his lines out and getting him into a chair. More to come on when and if this happens, but we all can let out a big sigh and crack a smile.

DKT sez: This is absolutely wonderful, but then we knew the "tuff guy" would sail right through it. So glad the endo tube is out although the major journals all concur that the "tube" is one of the real joys of open heart surgery. Love to all including " drug boy". Kathy, I know it is a great initial relief to you. Be well. Tell Mike the prayers certainly didn't hurt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Patrick for sharing the updates with the
ReplyDeleteswarms of folk out here rooting for a successful surgery and a quick recovery for your dad. Lots
of rejoicing by all of us who know and love Mike.
Please tell your mom and bro. that all at the Erway household send our best for Mike and all of
you. We are so happy to hear the good news. Keep it up Mike.
Thanks Pat for updates, looks like all prayers have been answered for our Irish Buddy!! Look forward to seeing Mike back home and in TC his presence is always appreciated. Tell Mike keep up the good work as he is loved and missed back home. ron Cassle
ReplyDeleteGreat News, and now I can take down my Lady of Guadalupe shrine. I tried my best to translate the 12:45 update containing the "&@&@&@&@" and, with the help of an old 1981 Nolan's Reference Dictionary, think that he was either referring to the republicans' objections to the latest stimulus package or our ideas for a tv and leather chairs in the store. It was a difficult translation without the help of either hand gestures or inflection. I'll try again later. Julie & I are so happy about the news that we could &@&@&@. Our best to Mike and you all... his great support group.
ReplyDeleteGreat news... The world could ill afford to lose a really good man, let alone a really good Democrat...
